Vaginoplasty
Vaginoplasty is a surgical procedure, which corrects the defects, and deformities of the vaginal canal and vulvo-vaginal structures that may be absent or damaged due to a congenital disease (e.g. vaginal atresia) or an acquired cause (e.g. physical trauma, childbirth, cancer). After multiple childbirths, the vaginal muscles tend to weaken even after exercise (Kegel). Both the patient and their sexual partner might not find sexual activities as satisfying. Vaginoplasty tones the vaginal muscles and decreases the diameter of the vagina, resulting in greater contraction strength, control, and increased sensation during intercourse. Vaginal canal tightening is also common procedure designed to rejuvenate the vagina. Patients often request a "prettier" vagina.
The risks of the procedure include infection, bleeding, scarring, nerve or vessel damage, pain, irritation with intercourse, and sensation changes. Labiaplasty and Vaginoplasty can be combined for complete rejuvenation.
