IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment can be performed the on face, neck, chest, and hands. A series of IPLs will help to reverse signs of sun damage, and to enhance your skin to produce more collagen.
IPL photo facial uses short blasts of high-intensity light to get just below the skin's surface; it damages either the melanin in brown spots or targets the blood vessels that lead to broken capillaries. The skin fixes the damages, creating a more even skin tone. IPL is also a great way to boost collagen in the face.
Post IPL treatment skin might appear red for a few hours. Patients are instructed to avoid sun exposure, and tanning the treated area. Additionally avoid scratching, or picking your skin. Slight peeling or darkening of the treated areas is normal and may last up to a few weeks post IPL treatment.
