BOTOX®
BOTOX® Cosmetic, prescription medicine, contains tiny amounts of a highly purified botulinum toxin protein. Botox Cosmetic is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of both moderate to severe crow's feet lines and frown lines between the eyebrows by addressing the underlying causes of frown lines and crow's feet -the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years.
BOTOX is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and also used:
- to treat overactive bladder symptoms when another type of medicine (anticholinergic) does not work well enough or cannot be taken.
- to treat leakage of urine (incontinence) in adults with overactive bladder due to neurologic disease when another type of medicine (anticholinergic) does not work well enough or cannot be taken.
- to prevent headaches in adults with chronic migraine who have 15 or more days each month with headache lasting 4 or more hours each day.
- to treat increased muscle stiffness in elbow, wrist, and finger muscles in adults with upper limb spasticity.
- to treat increased muscle stiffness in ankle and toe muscles in adults with lower limb spasticity.
- to treat the abnormal head position and neck pain that happens with cervical dystonia (CD) in adults.
- to treat certain types of eye muscle problems (strabismus) or abnormal spasm of the eyelids (blepharospasm) in people 12 years and older.
- BOTOX is also used to treat the symptoms of severe underarm sweating (severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis).
Procedure for face
- The area to be injected will be cleaned with an antiseptic
- Topical numbing cream will be applied before your treatment
- Botox is injected with fine needles
Recovery
- Treatment requires minimal downtime or recovery; it's often called alunchtime procedure
- You'll be able to go about your normal routine immediately after you leave your provider's office
- You may begin to notice results within 7days for moderate to severe frown lines
